This was our special mother-daughter trip to celebrate my daughter’s graduation with honors from a vigorous MBA program. Attending The Bridge City Sinners was much anticipated. On the way in, we felt like cattle in the slaughterhouse, sheer chaos.
Would you like to speak out a special proposal to your loved one while your voice is being covered by a passing firetruck siren?
To our amazement, there was no coat-check. And to top it off, a family with two children on their laps (don’t understand if they were economizing, and if it is even allowed), but 4 people were occupying two chairs directly behind us. Their girls were what seemed 7 and 5 years old, and they were banging their feet non-stop on the backs of our chairs for the entire duration of the show. We asked those parents once to stop their girls from the excessive banging of the backs of our chairs, they said they “will try”. What would you do if your experience was ruined by uncultured people? Unfortunately, trying is not equal to actually doing it. So when we asked them again, parents acted as if we were harassing them. I wish there was some section of the theater for a more mature audience, who could enjoy the beautiful work of the artists and dancers without having their experience hijacked by savages. What kind of venue is this? Cheap movie theater? Our tickets weren’t that cheap!
